Spring evenings are far from quiet at Sunkhaze Meadows NWR! Come join us to listen for owls, woodcock, and amphibians on April 19th. Ron Joseph, wildlife biologist with USFWS, will lead this nighttime adventure, seeking out the courtship display of the American woodcock, the various calls of our local owls, and the musical serenade of chorusing frogs and toads. Bring rubber boots, warm clothes, and a flashlight.
We will meet at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service office at 1168 Main St (U.S. 2) in Old Town, at 6:45 P.M.

Signs of Spring: Taking a Closer Look
Led by Dr. Alison C. Dibble

We will be exploring the woods for plants, mosses and lichens, insects, birds, and any signs of animals. Dr. Alison C. Dibble is from Brooklin, where she runs an ecological consulting firm, Stewards LLC. She works with the Maine Forest Service, the University of Maine, College of the Atlantic, other institutions, and land trusts. She enjoys sharing a hand lens with curious children and their adults. Be sure to bring rubber boots, water, a snack, and binoculars and a hand lens if you have them.

Monthly Meeting
Sales Center at River Village Condos in Milford

All are welcome to attend our monthly meetings. They are now always held the second Monday of each month at 7pm at the Sales Center at River Village Condos in Milford. Directions: From Rte. 2 in Milford, go 0.7 miles south on the Bradley Road (Rte. 178) to River Village Drive on the right side. After turning right, the Sales Center is the second structure on the left side. From the Brewer area, turn left onto Rte. 178 from Rte. 9 and we are one mile north of Spencer's ice cream store.

Bird Walk

Join us on May 18th for a bird walk with Ron Joseph, wildlife biologist with USFWS. This will be the approximate peak of songbird
migration so we should see many brightly colored "cool" warblers, thrushes,
